Incoming Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos will strive to restore severed diplomatic ties with Venezuela following the decision made on Thursday by Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez to break relations, Colombian Vice-President elect Angelino Garzón promised in Quito, AFP quoted.
"We will do everything possible and use all the friends we have in different countries around the world, and we will seek all diplomatic means to improve and strengthen relations with all countries in the region, including Venezuela," Garzón answered, after been queried about Chávez's announcement.
"We must send a message of unity, friendship, cooperation and peace," he added during a press conference together with his Ecuadorian counterpart Lenín Moreno.
