Miami Cubans Now Overwhelmingly Favor Lifting Travel Ban
Nearly two-thirds of Cuban-Americans living in Miami believe the island would be better off if the U.S. government's travel ban were lifted, according to a new University of Miami study.

The apparent change in attitude toward the travel ban could give Democrats -- who've already said they have the votes to pass the Freedom to Travel to Cuba Act -- the political capital to push through changes later this year.

1. Good to see the younger generation showing up in polling now.
Instead of carving out a niche in sanctions, both on Cuba and America, the US should just end all forms of sanctions relating to US/Cuba - both extraterritorial and domestic.

Thanks for posting this.

3. The Travel Restrictions Continue As A Triumph
The US restrictions on travel to Cuba continue as a triumph of hardliner ideology over both the popular will and common sense.

Even those of us who DON'T believe that Fidel Castro is the best thing since sliced bread and that Cuba is now the most prosperous island in the Caribbean see no strategic or political benefit in keeping the US federal government's travel restrictions in place, and plenty of benefit in getting rid of the travel restrictions as the old, outdated Cold War relics they are.

If nothing else, I would like to see OFAC's finances and manpower set to work tracing and shutting down the financial conduits that keep obscuritan, misogynistic, backwards-looking pseudo-religious organizations in money, manpower, and bomb-making materials in their so-called "Holy Wars" against the innocent.

4. Cubans are lovely people, and Americans need to know them.
The embargo has been amongst the worst foreign policy decisions in my lifetime.

Selfishly, I would love to be able to get some geniune Partagas cigars without having to go to Canada.
