Here we go -- Hugo going to Bogota on Tuesday

Meeting was set up by Foreign Minister Nicolás Maduro of Venezuela and the new Foreign Minister of Colombia, María Ángela Holguín on Sunday. Chavez, in a final slap alongside the head to uribito, sent Maduro to the inauguration despite the no diplomatic relations.

This setting up of the meeting came after Santos, in his inauguration speech, told Lulu, Kirchner, the OAS, UNASUR and all other leaders who offered to mediate to butt out (in polite words, of course).

Chavez last night said he was willing to meet with Santos, and if Santos could not go to Caracas, he (Hugo) would go to Bogota.

So here we go. It is going to be an intense Monday and Tuesday.

-------------

Keep in mind that Chavez said last night that at the first sign of "disrespect" by Santos or his government, everything was off.

(By disrespect, Chavez meant repeating the uribista claims that Venezuela was harboring FARC and ELN guerrillas.)

1. I suspect this will come out well..
No matter how evil Santos/uribe are santos's primary motivation will be to get out of uribes shadow. It's possible uribe forsees this and that the motivation behind his attacks on Venezuela were to make it easy for Santos to meet Chavez in the middle.

3. You and I recommend, and the total showing is zero.
Why do they hate diplomacy?
