Honduran leader limits presidential palace visits

08:35 AM Jan 19, 2011TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras (AP) - Honduras' leader is barring his Cabinet ministers from bringing relatives or friends to the presidential palace.

President Porfirio Lobo says the restriction is necessary "for security reasons" at his official workplace. Military guards will enforce the new rule.

Lobo has warned in the past of plots to topple his government, though without presenting any evidence.

He did not say Tuesday whether the rule on palace visits is related to a purported conspiracy.
