Nicaragua prez call Gaddafi to expresses support
MANAGUA, Nicaragua – Nicaragua's leftist President Daniel Ortega says he has telephoned Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi to express his solidarity.

Ortega says he has called several times this week because Gadhafi "is again waging a great battle" to defend the unity of his nation.

Human rights groups say more than 200 people have died as Libyan security forces crack down on protesters.

Ortega has long been an ally of the Libyan leader, based in part on a shared distrust of the United States.

5. You're putting words in my mouth...
The ant-left mob at this forum conveniently 'forgets' Khadaffi made a $10 million dollar arms deal with Great-Britain this year. The anti-left mob conveniently 'forgets' the tear gas cannisters used against protesters in Egypt were 'made in the USA'. It doesn't fit their agenda.

7. So, do you support Ghadafi like Hugo and Ortega do?
If not, are you disappointed that they support him?

8. Of course I do not support Khadaffi... Just pointing out hypocrisy.
Unlike certain people on DU who exploit the tragedy in Libya to bash Chavez (who has not supported Khadaffi's actions, by the way), I oppose *all* dictatorships. I also understand the concept of realpolitik and the fact that Chavez and Ortega maintain good relations with Khadaffi under the age-old political adage "the enemy of my enemy (the US) is my friend". I'm not saying that's a good thing, but I don't single out only Chavez and Ortega.
