The districts cut a broad swath through South Florida's varied communities, including Pembroke Pines, Hialeah, Miami Beach and the Florida Keys.

In District 18, Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R) faces Pinecrest businesswoman Annette Taddeo (D).

In District 21, Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart (R) is being challenged by former Hialeah Mayor Raul Martinez (D).

In District 25, Diaz-Balart's brother Mario (R), also an incumbent congressman, faces Joe Garcia (D), former executive director of the Cuban American National Foundation.

All three Democratic challengers have outraised their Republican competitors -- with Taddeo lending her campaign money -- but the GOP'ers have the edge when it comes to cash on hand, according to the most recent Federal Election Commission reports. New figures are expected out next week.

The questions were submitted to candidates in advance.

1. Hard to watch, but check out Mario Diaz Balart.
A true Bushie, and like Bush he can hardly put out a coherent sentence.

I'm not a fan of Joe Garcia either, but the difference is palpable.

Mario D-B is totally incompetent, in my opinion, except for his ability to carve out a district for himself, when he was on the Florida legislature's redistricting commission, dumb enough to vote for him.

2. Omigod. This is excellent. I've skipped around randomly, so far, to get a good idea
of the participants, have seen them all except for the former Mayor of Hialeah for a few seconds, will return to hear it from beginning to end when I can clear the deck and concentrate more completely on this.

I was anxious to see how Annette Tadeo would do, and noted she got right in there and mentioned the blow against children's health insurance in her opening remarks. I saw several seconds of Ros-Lehtinen, including a few moments of her goddawful closing remarks. What a beast she has become, a loud bully. I can't think people would want to send her back one more time to get louder and more obnoxious!

Miami needs a CHANGE in the worst way. I hope so much they would rather see more intelligent, thoughtful, mature people representing them in Washington than their current swaggering, obnoxious, and actually STOOOPID Representatives.

Thanks so much for giving us the chance to see this. I'm most certainly looking forward to later in the day or evening when I can guarantee myself I'll be uninterrupted and can watch this video with the attention it deserves. I LOVE the debates for important races, and this triple election South Florida Battistianos vs. Cuban-American Democrats extravaganza is a whopper!

Thanks, again, Billy Burnett. :hi:

3. During the introduction statements at the start, Raul Martinez comes out swinging.

To me, Annette Tadeo seems a little weak and slightly disorganized w/her points. She needs to attack the she-wolf with sharp fangs.

The two Diaz Balart brothers are simply a joke when it comes to their making position statements. Just listen to Lincoln D-B's answer to the Medicare part D/no gov drug negotiation law. He doesn't answer the question at all. He just flat out disregards the negative impact that the 'Part D' hole-in-the-doughnut drug coverage has had also. He just goes on an attack against the highly efficient socialized systems of our friends and neighbors.

I just don't see how anyone could vote for these repubs on any level of most any issue.

All these exile repubs have, like so many Cuba haters here on DU, is BS and personal attacks.

4. Article on Annette Taddeo in the Miami Herald. She sounds like a treasure!

ANNETTE TADDEO
Democratic challenger aiming for Ros-Lehtinen upset
A little-known Colombian- American businesswoman faces an uphill climb as she poses the first serious challenge to a 19-year Congressional incumbent.
BY PATRICIA MAZZEI
pmazzei@MiamiHerald.com

Annette Taddeo was managing her translation business and raising her 9-month-old daughter in April of last year when she got an improbable phone call -- one that would lure her into congressional politics.

A Democratic political consultant was drafting a poll. Would Taddeo consider running against popular, longtime incumbent Republican Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen?

The 41-year-old Taddeo, a first-time candidate, had always pictured herself taking a stab at public office -- a high-profile post, not a local community council -- so to her, the proposition made sense.

''I'm a woman, a Hispanic and a Jew,'' she told a group of Miami Beach seniors, to much laughter, while campaigning over the summer. ``I bring a lot to the table.''

What she is not is well-known -- unlike Ros-Lehtinen, who congressional observers say is well-entrenched in her 18th District seat, which covers a lengthy, diverse swath including Miami Beach, Little Havana, Pinecrest and Key West.

But Taddeo's campaign hopes that labeling Ros-Lehtinen as a George W. Bush rubber stamp -- and tying her to brothers Lincoln Diaz-Balart and Mario Diaz-Balart, who are facing more stiff competition in their congressional races -- will give them an opening to pull off an upset.

Keep a good, good thought for this fine candidate's campaign against a true idiotic, utterly obnoxious, stupid, loutish Republican, and Bush puppet. She lashed herself to Bush the very first day of his stolen pResidency, and seemed to believe, along with the two big Baby Huey Diaz-Balarts that the Bush pResidency would help them turn Cuba into a new kingdom, waiting for the Battistiano loons to reclaim and rule. Screw that!

Taddeo presents a BEAUTIFUL opportunity to break open that chokehold the Battistiano thugs have had on Miami.

Annette Tadeo, Democrat

Condoleeza Rice, and the she-wolf.
(Or would Tasmanian Devil be more
fitting?) Maybe Ileana Ros-Lehtinen
should explain to Ms. Rice how the
Spanish Cuban oligarchs perceived
black people before the revolution,
and they were overthrown.
