Biden's 92-year-old mother 'seriously ill'
By Michael O'Brien - 01/07/10 02:10 PM ET

Vice President Joe Biden's mother is "seriously ill," the White House announced Thursday.

The vice president's family has returned home to Wilmongton, Del., where his 92-year-old mother, Catherine Eugenia "Jean" Biden, has been sick.

The White House said in a statement: "The Vice President is at home today in Wilmington, Delaware where he has gathered with family to spend time with his mother, who has taken seriously ill in recent days."

The vice president's mother was hospitalized in March of 2009 after falling.

He has such a droll sense of humor--I bet she's a hoot, too.
