Dan Quayle endorsing Bob Dold
Former Vice President Dan Quayle has waded into another competitive GOP primary this week, endorsing businessman Bob Dold (R) in the multi-candidate race for Rep. Mark Kirk's (R-Ill.) seat.

"Bob is the right candidate at the right time for the Republican Party," Quayle said in a statement from the Dold campaign.

Dold is one of several candidates looking to succeed Kirk as the GOP nominee in the Feb. 2 primary, including businessman Dick Green and state Rep. Beth Coulson. Democrats have indicated that they plan to target the district, and marketing consultant Dan Seals -- their 2006 and 2008 nominee -- and state Rep. Julie Hamos are running for the Democratic nod next month.

This is the second time Quayle has endorsed a candidate this week. He endorsed 1996 gubernatorial candidate Ovide Lamontagne's (R) bid for the open New Hampshire Senate seat -- another competitive, multi-candidate primary. Quayle also endorsed Todd Young's (R) bid last October for Rep. Baron Hill's (D-Ind.) seat, however Young is related by marriage to the former Vice President.

1. Bob "Dold"?
Does Quayle think he's actually Bob Dole?

3. Wow! The "Dan Quayle" brand! Almost as impressive as a microwaved Pat Boone 8-track tape
Isn't Dan Quayle a caveman in the Smithsonian?

4. This isn't the first time J Danforth Q, Esq., has been confused.
Perhaps it's just a typo and he's thinking of his old Viagra friend.
