1. it looks nice to serve a few dozen meals, but changing policy would help millions
how many in the soup kitchen are there because their job was outsourced?
how many are in poor health and have no insurance?
how many are bankrupt and have lost everything to predator lenders?

5. Good grief!
I doubt you'd be satisfied with anything Obama does.

7. and you know what's funny? He/she probably ain't doing shit to help the homeless
I'll bet you nightwatcher ain't set foot one in a homeless shelter to pass out food to anyone, yet he's shitting on Obama for setting an example.

10. I've been on three builds for Habitat, I volunteered with Food Not Bombs for months when they were
around in the area.

Obama has much greater ability to actually help people than serving a few meals. This is the equivalent of bush showing up with a plastic turkey

8. Oh for corn's sake
Performing a day's service does NOT mean that Obama is not aware of, or working on, those problems. Yeesh.

14. Go ask the people if..
they know why we are in this situation and they will tell you why and they also know the bull that their President has to deal with to get something done. Many of these people were in these soup kitchens many yrs before Obama became President.

Many of these people lost their jobs before Obama became President. Many know who and what is stopping the President when he tries to get things done and they have been watching for years and are even more aware now..

24. Give me a fucking break
Obama passed on millions to help and work w/ the poor on the south side of Chicago and Gary Indiana
after he finished law school.

BTW Obama is not magic and can not fix everything w/ a wave of his hand.

He has power, he has wealth, and he has comfort but he left all that for a few hours to have poor people
feel a little joy in their lives.

25. Excuse me? Puleeeeeeeeze!!!!!!!!!
Will you get your mind off of that? Obama is making a difference in the world by serving people who does not or had lost everything. If you looking for "The Great Obamadini", you can forget it!

It seems like in ANY positive thread about President Obama, there is always someone to come in and shit on it.

2. Thank you for these. Makes me happy and proud.
I'm tired of the "I'm disappointed in Obama" theme over and over again. It is not like he, or any president, comes in with a clean slate and can just change it all overnight.

Just feeling cranky today. For all of you who have turned on Obama, go ahead, crank away. This man is so far above that last clown, and I for one, want to give him more of a chance, and my support.

because she is just too adorable.

4. It's nice to have a first family that acts this real
First families sometimes seem so stiff when around the people, but they act very real.

are being taught that service is a part of life, no matter who you are or how much you have.

23. He's gonna get skewered for "only touching the homeless with gloves on"
He's a limousine liberal!
He doesn't really care for the poor!

blah blah blah

I'm sure Beck or Limbaugh will carry that torch.
