For President Obama this will be a week.....

.....in his administration that all the cards fell down and his BASE did a major DUMP of their support that has been given freely and he hopefully has figured out he will now have to earn their trust and respect...

Im sorry for sounding very negative this week but alot of us here put a lot of effort and sacrifice to see he was elected. The vision that he was going to give this country back to us has not yet happened...he said he would uphold the constitution and yet Rove/Bush/Cheney have yet to appear at any House hearing...he promised us affordable health care and basiclly is pleased with letting heath insurance companys be the ones to decide what quality of care we will recieve.....He promised to close Gitmo but how is openning up a super FED facility in Illinois solving the problem...funny how it happened to end up in Illinois isnt it....

He has a big job in front of him and he needs to start with firing two people in his administration and removing from nomination another....Mr Obama as Olberman has said you need to start listening to your BASE NOW......there are other Democrats that have had an interest in your office and deserve a chance...HINT...or do you not care to serve until 2016.

1. Go soft on him.
Yep, that's the answer. Pull the rug right out from underneath him.

12. He pulled the rug out from underneath me in November of '08.
And never looked back.

Why, again, am I supposed to be worried about his "rug?"

11. What did he "Get"....?
He 'got' 2 inept wars which were really money making intrenchments for the military industrial complex, and bled the country dry

hmmm...what else?
-a financial system on the verge of collapse - again, entrenchments of greed and lawlessness and govt entanglements & corruption
-a populace that is polarized in ideologies, but similarly entrenched in their cable TV credit-induced stupor
-another portion of the populace that has seen their livlihoods evaporate, homes forclosed, etc

in short, he didn't get anything but a steaming pile....
though I agree there are MANY things he needs to do diferently, he didn't "get His"

22. Who would he replace them with?
He needs seasonsed men and women to advise him on the peocess, sort of an HONEST, progressive version of Rove or Cheney. To some extent Biden fills that role, but he needs to bring in one or two more if Rahm et al aren't doing the job.

4. The USA is a corporation. Each president is side lined
Edited on Sat Jan-23-10 10:20 AM by Rosa Luxemburg
I don't think anything has changed over the last 100 years. GOP presidents are more favorable to 'The Corporation' Dem presidents are set up or assassinated.

I hope Obama will carry on! I think on the whole is is doing OK in the circumstances. I blame Congress.

5. I blame him for not leading.....

.....congress is addressing his visions it is up to Obama to lead congress down the path to what he had in mind....so far he has not done that.....the current health care bill is not he had in mind a year ago...he needs to get it back on track...his efforts to seek bipartisan have failed because he has not got the clue the the REPUKES are not going to work with him on anything....Jim Demint told him that last summer...Obama needs to set them aside and put the pressure on the DEMs to get his plans for America passed.

7. Not sure what your issue is with the facility in Illinois.
Its in Illinois because nobody else wanted it. Rove/Bush/Cheney havent been at a house hearing because the HOUSE SCREWS UP. I didnt know Obama controls who committee's subpoena.

Seriously, lets just blame him for every little thing.

9. So what does it matter?
You'd most likely gripe the same way if it were any other state because it seems you want to find fault.

And closing Guantanamo makes all the difference as far as torturing them with impunity goes.

People in Illinois need jobs too.

15. Nobody wanted the prison in their state.
Its not like there were a bunch of states volunteering themselves. Illinois did, and they got it.

25. LOL...on the news here in IL we've had dozens of Republican talking heads screaming about the prison
Edited on Sun Jan-24-10 06:57 PM by SemiCharmedQuark
How Obama's endangered us all forever...how IL is now going to be a terrorist target...how they're going to escape and go on murder sprees.

You can't spin this as Obama doing this marvelous thing for IL because he's getting pummeled for that decision here.

14. Listen to his base? What are they saying?
As far as Health Care reform goes, I can't tell if the base wants him to pass a bill or to see the bill killed. Can you tell?

18. I wouldn't blame him if ..
Edited on Sat Jan-23-10 09:44 PM by butterfly77
he didn't run again with the shit he has had to put up with. I know that his being elected has been an eye opener for some blacks who really thought that racism was gone because some in the media told them it was. Most know it is a bunch of bull.

Many try to pretend that a lot of things that have gone on during his campaign and during his Presidency have nothing to do with race but many of us know better. If I was the President I wouldn't run again and I would tell them all to kiss my ass!

They don't deserve someone like him for President but like always many will realize it when it is too late. He has been Bombarded even before he took office and he can't even take a damn vacation in peace.

The media proclaims that he is in front of the camera too much but those motherfuckers can't even let him take a break from the shit and didn't think he should have a vacation they did everything to make the popcorndrawers bomber a major issue that needed him at the whitehouse. You and the rest of your crew are full of shit!!!

23. The Sotomayor appointment defines who Pres. Obama is, he only said lobbyists
Edited on Sun Jan-24-10 06:50 PM by ProgressOnTheMove
wouldn't control his Whintehouse. Congress is it's on independent branch, there is very little he could do to control that before the ruling or now. Of course Illinois is the only state to help him out with Gitmo the media campaign did its job and scared people from detaining them in most other states. If the Senate is conservative you get conservative policy, that's a reality and more so with the new ruling. The fight is in our corner and always will be, till all people in the nation understand what the deal is. Now we can keep blaming Pres. Obama or get to work like our lives depend on it and force through a sonstitutional ammendment to take money out of DC. I blame a lot of entities and groups for poor policy as he can't decide when Liebermans and Nelsons are elected to office. The process of the bill was very open we saw most of it for ourselves, it was ugly he wanted us to see how utly it was. THAT is President Obama.
