After SCOTUS Decision, What AMERICA Needs NOW IS....
Edited on Sat Jan-23-10 08:19 PM by FrenchieCat

A "Real" Forceful leader
who drives a "real" pick up-Truck :patriot:

and one who appeals to "real" Americans!:patriot:

and the "Real" leaders who can represent us you best!

Everything else is too foreign, too wimpy,
too intellectual, too radical, too rational,
too weak, too ineffectual, too wonkish,
too disappointing, too slow moving,
impassionate, too complicated, way too elite,
too much of a "sell out", breaks promises,
and just doesn't "connect" with "real" Americans,
and doesn't "connect" with "real" Americans,
and we will make sure that you understand this
just in time for the next election!

We Welcome your assistance
because we need you desperately! :patriot:

REPUBLICANS MAJORITIES IN 2010

AND

BROWN-PALIN IN 2012

CAUSE THAT'S THE REAL AMERICAN DREAM!

brought to you in partnership by:

7. Part of me loves this and part of me doesn't.
What I fear is that the message that we should vote for someone just because the other side is worse consistently lowers the bar (especially when the Repubs are pretty damn low), and while I have no evidence to back it up my gut and my friends say that just being better than someone sucky isn't an inspiring message. In other words, it's not always what you stand against but what you stand for. Just saying "We're not them" means nothing when a lot of people have no use for either side.

8. This is the message that "They" will bring you......
In otherwords, the soundbytes on what "real America" will be sold to us,
and the negativity of what the "others" (which will be us) will simply be
implied.

This is just one commercial,
and there are many more in the works.

Here in Mass Coakley was still running against Bush and Cheney, so this is my current frame of reference, and that's where I'm coming from. And while I think there's lots of meat there for those interested, most voters don't care about the past. They want to know if they'll have jobs the next week or if they can afford to go to the doctor. A big reason why Obama appealed to so many was that he talked about the future, not the past. With these Coakley ads it had nothing to do with what the media did...it was her campaign's decision.

It's good to compare and contrast between the two parties. It's a valid way to promote ourselves, but I'm seeing a tendency to rely on running against something instead of for something, and I don't think it's helping us much anymore.

And sorry if I'm taking this off on a different tangent than intended. I'm high. ;)
