Sarah wrote notes on her hand.

Polar bears are dying off as the polar ice cap melts
Real unemployment is around 20%
Health insurance for many people leaped 35%, and single-payer is probably dead.
People are mumbling about privatizing social security and Medicare.
We are sending more forces to Afghanistan at a cost of $1 million per year per troop.
A so-called Democratic majority can't get anything fiscally useful through Congress.
Wall Street is setting us up for another big ripoff, and paying themselves multimillion dollar bonuses in anticipation.

But Goddamit, Sarah wrote notes on her hand.

(And yeah, I'm guilty of getting caught up in that nonsense too.)

1. Actually the media got us all caught up in this Sarah speech thing and

just look at every major news outlet carrying her speech live, commenting on it, as if ANY THING she said or even COULD HAVE said was somehow so important that it needed coverage.

Forget about the hand notes, why is the media treating this woman AS IF she is someone important in American policy-making?

Quitter from Alaska addresses about 1000 people or less in Nashville. Obama gets crowds every where he goes and Fox cuts him off, doesn't cover him live and mis-states what he says. Fox not only carries it live, Fox has a one on one interview with Sarah the next morning after her "speech".
