Ashooh in race; whither Mahoney?
Republican congressional candidate Rich Ashooh, of Bedford, has had a late start, but is moving fast to change all that.

A few supporters have already alerted their employers that they’ll be working for the first-time candidate starting Monday.

Veteran GOP operative Jaime Burnett has agreed to play a consulting role for Ashooh, although those details haven’t been worked out.

Burnett worked as a staff and campaign aide to former Sen. John E. Sununu, and since then helped form a consulting company that includes two other Sununu brothers.

If Ashooh is in, can Republican National Committeeman Sean Mahoney, of Portsmouth, be far behind?

Several people close to Mahoney expect him to get into this race, since the 1st District primary now has two Manchester area candidates in the thick of it: Ashooh and former Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta.
