Sources say Rep. Ehlers (R)will not run for reelection
MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – A longtime Michigan Representative will not run for reelection.

Sources told Newschannel 3 on Tuesday that Congressman Vern Ehlers will not run for reelection in Michigan's 3rd District. The official announcement is expected to come Wednesday in Grand Rapids.

Rep. Ehlers is currently serving his eighth term in the House. Newschannel 3 has not yet received official confirmation from Rep. Ehlers office.

6. Gerald Ford was a Republican who no longer exists.
He was a good, decent man with a wonderful wife who fought for the Equal Rights Amendment. He had his faults, but ask Jimmy Carter about him.

Jimmy Carter grew to love him. His kind of Republican no longer exists. You know, decency and character. Stuff like that.

7. You're right. And my comment was about the place, not the man.
We'd probably have been much better off as a country had Reagan agreed to Ford's "co-presidency" proposal for the 1980 ticket.
