INDEM Central Committee to pick Bayh's replacement
This is what is being reported in local media.

My favourite local blogger has this additional info:

Update 4: I lied, the filing deadline for the Indiana Primary for Senator is tomorrow, February 16. See it for yourself here.

Also, how did we not see this coming. Bayh never filed for access to the Primary Ballot according to the IN SOS website. See the list of filed candidates here.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update 5: Here's what is going to happen, in my opinion. The INDEM Central Committee has until June 30th to fill the primary vacancy for US Senator. The INDEM State Convention is June 26th. I think that the best thing to do would be for the state party to allow a floor vote on the candidates for US Senate. Then in the subsequent days, the Central Committee could ratify the result of those votes, therefore allowing the Party Activists to have a vote on the matter and still following the rules.

3. No clue!
But whoever they pick, it would be an improvement over Bayh in terms on being on the side of the people.

8. Weinzapfel would be a good pick. He won E-ville with 85% of the vote
comes from a family of small-business owners (some of whom I grew up with), reasonably progressive for Indiana, has led on issues regarding the economy and education for some time.

He leads the only city in the state that isn't falling apart jobs-wise.

9. I live in Evansville
Weinzapful has made a number of huge blunders, not the least of which includes a less than above board tax increase.

I like the guy and voted for him, but he'll take a beating on this one.
