WOODS WOODS WOODS...but the fact that CPAC is hosted by the John Birchers barely makes a blip
I am just in total disgust at medias of all sorts. It is Woods and his failures as a husband that is all consuming.. but the fact that a group of people whose meetings usually showcase the canidates and platforms the republicans are going to run on being hosted by the JOHN BIRCHERS just is not news worthy?

Am I living in some alternate universe. Birchers who wanted to take out Eisenhower when he was in office..Birchers who were drummed out of the conservative movement for the radical stances to get Reagan elected.. Birchers are now openly co hosting events like this.

What next.. the militias? the skin heads?

If not for a few shows like Maddow, there would be no mention of this at all.

Are media types taking it to the republicans for going to something like this.. NOOO.

Woods, Woods, Woods..

1. CBS Saturday Morning 10 minutes on Tiger, 1 minute on Un-Terror
Wall to Wall Tiger Woods, it is as if nothing else happened in the last 24 hours.

Democrats every single time just amazes me. I am having a senior moment here, but you had some "schmoe" from Arkansas dedicated to taking down Clinton.

Did you know Welchs founders (the grape juice people) were founders of the Birchers?

You know graywarrior, there is just so much of big corporations using their money to try and influence politics that most people do not even have a clue about..

6. Nor do we, the people, have the money to combat them.
Which is why they want us poor. Government works in such strange ways.

8. We used to have the news and media to at least get some of the truth out
Now they have all been bought up by mega corps and this is what we are getting. Could be disheartening if not for the fact that we can still dig ourselves, and then try and shame some of the media into looking at things.

Hard work for us, but worth it in the end

7. Mark Penn (political consultant) was asked about this very issue
on Charlie Rose about a year or so ago. So much fluff
on TV News leading to an ill-informed public. "This
is what the elites want emphasizing it by repeating,
this is what elites want."

I wonder why???? I wonder why??? Dumbing down of America???

If people do not know what is going on---then those
in charge and the Ruling Class can do what they wish??
Just a thought.

9. Oh I think there is a lot of that.. who ever came up with the suggestion
of putting corporate logos on congress peoples jackets was not too far off base if you ask me. Even the Supreme Court is bowing down to corporates.

Should be enough of an outright danger to our system to unite all of us on putting the brakes on that

12. I rarely flip channels, but I had to last night to find something other than Tiger.
With all the problems we have in the US, we sure don't need to be plugging up the airways with "Inquirer" type items. Let Tiger and his wife work out their problem(s) and get on with their lives. I have no interest whatsoever.

Back to the news.

16. Bread and circuses, my friends
And I would guarantee you that 90% of Americans have no idea what the John Birch Society is.

Fuck Tiger Woods as the late, great George Carlin said. Let him take his millions and his porn star girlfriends and just fuck off to wherever. This is a perfect example of the ridiculous pedestals we put these athletes on. Ooh, he's really good at hitting a ball! Woo-hoo! I really hope his wife takes him to the cleaners.

17. I have boycotted watching the so called news for the last two days. I could care less about Tiger.
A small snippet is fine, all day coverage is boring.

I am enjoying watching the Olympics instead. I would rather watch curling any day over the crap force fed to us.

18. I would think Rachel, KO, Jon, et al..
would be getting even more ratings bc those are ones to turn to when one wants the real news of what's going on in our country?

I stopped watching corporatemedia in Nov 2002 when I realized they manufactured, manipulated, and aided and abetted the outcome of the elections.
