4. One of the twits says "no to all things Obama".
No need to comment on the sheer ignorance of that statement; but therein lies winger's strengths.

They will block/oppose all Democratic Party legislation. They take no prisoners.

Can you imagine if we were that focused as an opposition party when bushco* was in control?

Can you imagine how much better off we would have been now?

Yeah, I know that that kind of tit for tat is childish and can really cause stagnation, but DAMN can't we at least block the most regressive of gop legislation?

Brown is getting all the headlines, but it would have passed even without him.

Just curious.

on edit...

Nevermind - found it.

"Senator Scott Brown of Massachusetts, the newly elected Republican, was the first to join Democrats in backing the measure. He was then joined by Senators Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine, George Voinovich of Ohio and Christopher Bond of Missouri, who voted after it became obvious Democrats would prevail. Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska was the sole Democrat to oppose beginning debate on the measure."

8. LOL. I guess the Freeper 2012 Dream Team of Palin/Brown is over, then?
Wow! That was quick.

I thought Brown would be a strong fiscal conseravtive.

I was so wrong. He is a bigtime RINO.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TRAITOR

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Can we get our donation back? What a disappointment he’s turning out to be.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope Mass go the recall route on this jerk.

Or hopefully he is saying yes but plans to blindside them with a no vote when they think they have the votes; albeit, not likely...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

there goes his chance to win friends and influence people....he has joined the enemy

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I knew he wasn’t a real conservative, but I didn’t really expect him to jump ship this fast. Why does he think he was elected?

Looks like he beat Collins and Snow to the lifeboats.

I never even considered him as a presidential candidate, but I thought he’d be at least moderately good as a Senator from Massachusetts.

Evidently not.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just another pretty face.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, your man Brown just crossed the aisle to vote with the Dems.
So much for falling on a grenade for the greater good.

Like most in the GOP, he's a back-stabber, not a squad-saver.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn’t send him $$$$ because I am saving for building some gallows in DC.

Elections matter not anymore.

At least he helped throw the commies off track for a bit...hope he gets to play hoops before they all hang.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Looks like Massachusetts produces only rotten fruit. SB is like an apple that is rotten on one side but edible on the other-—

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That sound you hear is my grinding my teeth.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Where are those CPAC dopes that were touting this guy as the next one who should run for President in 2012? LMAO

NOT ONE CENT TO THE RNC!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I thought the exact same thing!! Did you get a nice thank you letter from Scott Brown last week? Glad I shredded it. Hey, I lived in MA and now live in NY so I am well aware of RINO’s but this is stunning. What a crock. I feel sucker punched.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To those who could not wait to make him President, you are stupid.

from tea party nation...

Well her we go. He is barely sworn in and he is on the take. So this is how he pays all of us who contributed to his campaign and helped to get him elected. 15 billion more dollars shot to --ll.

I heard that Frances! We all have to really, really be so vigilante no matter what on who we choose to vote for. some will say it was either Coakley or him! I am disappointed again and not happy about it one little bit. As a mom, I am feeling very sad right now!

Sad is not exactly what I am feeling right at this moment. Rage would better describe it. But, I am sure that after I have slept on it I am going to be very heavy of heart tomorrow. How can we be vigilant when people are so pathetic.

I just came from his facebook site. People are livid. There are already close to 1,800 post and it is getting uglier by the minute. He will probably need a police escort in the morning if he leaves home.

The one good thing, Brown will be in office two years if he keeps this nonsense up. Let's see him win Massachusetts with the entire tea party movement supporting his primary opponent. We will either tear him to shreds in primaries and get his rival the candidacy, or weaken him for his elections. You might want to keep the trailer hitched to your truck, Scott...

Hopefully, this will result in disillusioned teabaggers who feel that, no matter WHAT they do, "politicians will do what they always do." Let the APATHY begin!

As there are so many independents, it would seem that if he managed to have a moderate record and retained any of his likability, could he win the Republican primary on just Unenrolled votes? ( Of curse, I would far prefer Capuano or another Democrat, but I thought that question interesting reading the RW nut.)

So if you have the opportunity to talk to a Tea Bagger suggest they stick an ice pick in their own head to reduce the pressure caused by politicians voting for something they can't comprehend. How many of these rubes would take that suggestion seriously if you convince them to only make a small hole with a very sharp ice pick? It only hurts for a second.

35. Guys;
Of both sexes, brown is padding his 'moderate' credentials. Wait until after his reelection and see how he votes.

Sorry Teddy. I have to apologize for all the a-hole 'Indies' that voted for this person.

57. Judging by the reactions of some those in his party, he won't make it through the primary
Edited on Tue Feb-23-10 10:41 AM by GoCubsGo
From the sound of it, the extremists will see to it that he loses his primary to a more "pure" conservative. Most of the indies and moderate republicans won't vote for that. It will be the NY-23 race all over again.

47. The GOP would rather keep
their constituents unemployed than have President Obama seen in a positive light. Real patriots. Finally a few do the right thing and all they get is condemnation. This perfectly illustrates how completely wrong the GOP is.

Beautiful. Wonder where all the folks are that were crowing about his victory and anticipating he'd be another 100% lock step party vote. Doh! Surprise :)

52. He ran on a platform of creating jobs, he'd look silly in MA if he turned down a jobs bill vote.
tea bag party made up an extreme minority, it was mostly people voting against the stupid 60 vote majority that got nothing done.

53. True enough & it was a safe vote as he had other GOP voting with him.
Scott "I'll be the 41st vote, not the 60th vote" Brown, didn't have to stick his neck out for this one.

67. Brown's "vote" was safe also because it just ADVANCED the bill. No big deal.
Allows him to say he "voted for it" even if he votes against it later when it really is a vote on the legislation.

If he doesn't he's just as useless as the rest of the repigs.

68. Brown DID vote to support health care reform in Massachusetts (2006) Let's hope he
sticks up for that cause at least. (Yes, I know he's on record as being opposed to the current HC hash bills...)

87. He's already said that he is against the Obama plan
and then he says they shouldn't pass it using the nuclear option. (apparently not knowing that the nuclear option is not the same as reconciliation.) http://www.bostonherald.com/business/general/view/20100223scott_brown_fumes_over_health_plan_rejects_obamacare_ii_as_nuclear_option_that_will_increase_taxes/srvc=home&position=0

But will immediately going back to turning a cold eye on Scott Brown -- I still don't trust his kind. The GOP has SOMETHING up their sleeve with that tool.

79. Masterful move by Brown to "buck his party" on his first vote...
... as that vote will likely get the most coverage, so voters will be left with the "bipartisan" memory -- even if he starts voting party line down-the-road.

82. Not first. On Brown's first vote he voted with Repubs to block Obama's labor nominee...
He was in a hurry to be sworn in so he could join the "Party of No"

80. It's just a shell game. Brown told the leadership that if it came down to his vote he would...
vote against cloture, but as you know, four other GOP senators also voted for cloture so his vote wouldn't have made any difference. It's an age old political game. But I do believe that when push comes to shove Brown will support the GOP line.

Of course, most wingnuts are too stupid to understand this so they freaked out over it. But in a way, their reaction probably helped Brown in Massachusetts.

81. Good news
though I still wouldn't expect too much from him (though I think it was still smart for Obama to not make an instant enemy out of him). Realistically, he's going to have to break ranks occasionally with the Repubs to continue to appeal to the moderate and independent voters he won over and without whom he won't be able to win a full six-year but his "independence" will likely come in the form of cloture votes on non-controversial legislation and then probably only when he's joined by some other Repubs as well. I'll be a little more impressed with him if and when he singularly bucks his party on some major issue in terms of a cloture vote and/or signs onto some progressive legislation.

85. I think Brown is realizing that if he goes too far to the right he wont' get re-elected
and he has 2 years to prove his worth as a senator. Perhaps if this was a full term (thank goodness it isn't), he'd probably be a typical wingnut.

Also, he won't last long in MA if he acts like Palin.
