AZ State Legislature approves measure to show Birth Certificate for Pres. Candidates
Edited on Wed Feb-24-10 01:44 AM by rufus dog
PHOENIX- Nearly half of the Arizona Legislature wants to force President Barack Obama to show his birth certificate to state officials if he runs for re-election.
A state House committee on Tuesday approved the measure sponsored by 40 of the state's 90 legislators. It would require presidential candidates who want to appear on the ballot in Arizona to submit documents proving they meet the requirements to be president.
All 40 co-sponsors are Republicans, comprising 75 percent of the GOP caucus. Two of them have since resigned to run for Congress.
The idea was proposed by Skull Valley Republican Rep. Judy Burges. She says if people have to prove their citizenship to apply for a job or get a passport, they should have to prove it to run for president.

This from a State Legislature who sold off the Capitol for short term cash flow. Nice use of time rednecks.

edit: subject change and comment "I think the 40 sponsors should provide their HS Diplomas.

1. "Run for president"...President Obama already
ran for President and was fully vetted. It's the drooling mouthbreathing idiots who are asking for it that need to show us their IQ tests.

4. felt good to see the Valley in your rear view mirror
Didn't it?

The power base there is just amazingly backwards, I left 25 years ago and figured midwest transplants would have some impact. I guess they just get too many bitter haters going there to retire. And the Natives, holy shit, they have some classics.

14. Never felt better.
Part of the problem is AZ's pathetic education system, and part is greedy transplants who don't want to have to pay for basic services like education.

3. I lived in Arizona for 5 years back in
'60s and had so much fun..wasn't into politics yet and had no idea what was going on. I remember my Mom helping out with Barry Goldwater flyers though.. I know if she were around today she would love Pres Obama.

Too much has gone down hill in Arizona since then.

7. Hmmm... how'd he get his passport?
"She says if people have to prove their citizenship to apply for a job or get a passport, they should have to prove it to run for president."

They're making their argument for him. Jerks!

I'm mad at Arizona anyway for sending us McCain.

Didn't the Supreme Court already throw out these bogus cases?

8. I was listening to "Dreams From My Father" the other night....
... and in it, he talks about finding an article his father had written, "tucked away with my birth certificate and immunization records."

I had to laugh.

19. President Obama, as a proud resident of the state of Arizona
Please accept my apologies for the backwards nitwits we have in our legislature. I wouldn't trust any of them to sit the right way on a toilet seat.

Sincerely,
An Arizona Democrat
