CNN poll says Americans blame Republicans for lack of bipartisanship
But Americans still think the Democrats should "give up more" - :wtf: What else can we give up to make these idiots happy?

Washington (CNN) -- Two-thirds of Americans think that the Republicans in Congress are not doing enough to cooperate with President Obama, according to a new national poll.

But a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey, released Wednesday, also indicates the public believes the Democrats should be the ones to take the first step toward bipartisan cooperation and they want the Democrats to give up more than the GOP to reach a consensus.
Sixty-seven percent of respondents say the GOP is not doing enough to cooperate with the White House, up 6 points from last April.

Americans appear split on whether the president is doing enough to reach out to Republicans, with 52 percent saying Obama is not doing enough to cooperate with the GOP, while 47 percent say he is doing enough to reach across the political aisle. The 52 percent who say the president's not doing enough to encourage bipartisanship is up 16 points from last April.

...is how come republicans get everything they want, without a single vote, while we are left fighting for the scraps?

3. Forest for the trees, people ...
this is the first "poll" I have seen in a while that isn't making the hair on the back of my neck stick out ...

Most REAL moderates have a "they are all the same/bad" mindset, so the soft middle is going to not be as focused and think the Ds need to give up more ...

THIS is what too many people are not getting about BO make the big push to reach out to Rs in public ... HE GENUINELY WANTS to have Rs be a part of the process, but the more he reaches out to them in a loud manner and they act like the boorish jaggoffs they are, the more the soft middle will put the blame on them ...

I posted a poll about HCR from Kaiser family yesterday, and he had a VERY interesting secondary statistic ... While overall, people did not like the bill, they did like most of the key features. But, the kicker was a question in regard to voting based on HCR. About 40 percent did not care about HCR either way, but a good secondary margin BOTH would vote FOR someone who SUPPORTED HCR while a good secondary margin woudl hold it AGAINST someone who was opposed to it ...

Make a big splash that you are reaching out to the arseholes, get it done, take credit for it and let them scream about it ...

13. I hope you are right about this

I think it is actually beginning to get through to the average person that it is NOT the Democrats that are being obnoxious. A few months ago I started noticing that more of the main stream media talking heads were beginning to cover this part of the whole process and it now seems to be soaking in.

I wonder if Obama realized that he would never get the health care plan through Congress that he wants and that he knows the American people want? If so, by letting the Republicans be obstructive, they will get more of the blame for a) blocking health care or b) blocking as good of a health care bill as we really want. Most people who don't pay attention might not blame (as much) the conservative or moderate Democrats who have assisted in blocking a really good health care bill so maybe the Democratic Party will not do as badly in the mid-terms as could have happened.

I just don't know what will get us something that is worth having. I've contacted Bill Nelson (my Blue Dog Senator) and the White House, letting them know that I want single payer but if they will not even consider that, at the least pass a public option. That is all I can do.

I certainly will not stay home for any election for the rest of my life. If I don't vote, I might as well just ignore politics because I will have given up my voice.

6. When was the last time Americans voted for a candidate based on the issue of "bipartisanshp?"
:eyes:

Very few give a shit about that- nor do they care about arcane Senate procedures like "reconciliation." What they want is results, and they don't care how it happens- though they do care if it doesn't.

And when it doesn't, they blame the party in power at the time.
