My uncle says - "Whatever is the opposite of Republican" which makes me laugh, but doesn't define much. Supposedly, Democrats are the opposite of Republicans But if we just keep voting and acting in ways that we think are opposite to the Republicans, then we'll never have a well defined target, and without a well defined target we'll never know if we're hitting a valuable goal with our voting habits. That's how whe end up with Dinos and Blue Dogs - elected officials that have a (D) next to their name, and a corporate logo on their paycheck.
I'd start by paraphrasing my uncle, and saying "Whatever is the opposite of Corporate," which I think is a better start, because it eliminates the Corporate Democratic Officials.
But what is corporate? How do we define the opposite of a thing that has not been defined itself?
IMO, Corporatism is a political philosophy that ultimately:
Replaces the state with the corporation Replaces the citizen with the employee Replaces campaigning with marketing Replaces voting with purchasing Values economic freedom over personal liberty Values wealth over character Decides policy based on what is profitable rather than what is right Replaces government "by the people and for the people" with management OF the people.
Maybe you've got something to add? If so, post it. Let's start by defining what we oppose. Then we can determine what we want to do about it, and in tuirn, who we will support with our votes in our effort to acheive our goals. If that's members of the Democratic Party, great. If not, so be it. If we have to create a new damn party to fill the hole. Let's get busy.
