Why are so many people griping about Bart Simpson???

I don't get it. He's just a cartoon character from a soon to be defunct television series. Sure he's a bit annoying, and his various catch phrases like "cowabunga" and "don't have a cow, man" all became pass� by around 1993, but he's fairly innocuous if you ask me. I mean, is it because he's yellow and has impossibly stiff hair?

What is it with you, DU? Are you really so bored that you now have to post thread after thread criticizing Bart? I mean, aren't there any choice-hating congressmen you can spend your time hating? This really seems to be a waste of time to me.
