White House counters conservative columnist Krauthammer
http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/69619-white-house-counters-conservative-columnist-krauthammer

The White House took on a conservative columnist on Friday evening, in its latest bid to correct perceived inaccuracies in arguments against health reform.

Incoming White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer, in a blog post on the White House's website, said that syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer had made a "wholly inaccurate" case against health reform efforts favored by the Obama administration.

"In today's Washington Post, Charles Krauthammer takes great pains to paint a bleak picture of health care reform as 'monstrous,' 'overregulated,' and rife with 'arbitrary bureaucratic inventions,'" Pfeiffer wrote. "The columnist's argument may be cogent and well-written, but it is wholly inaccurate."

Pfeiffer argued the bill substantially includes the reforms Krauthammer would prefer, while going beyond those reforms to impose a broader overhaul of health insurance.

1. They should ignore individual columnists instead of taking the bait. Now Krauthammer can respond.

2. Unless they use this strategy...
Point out that Krauthammer is a strident gun-banner who advocates confiscation of all firearms (on record in WaPo). Does it have anything to do with the health care debate? No, but the far right has been doing the same for years; maybe it's time for a little payback.

14. Why wouldn't you want Krauthammer to respond?
News media is all over the place, 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week, everywhere you look, and it's all shallow. Rarely is any research on social issues reported on. What the poll numbers were drew 100 times drew 1000 times more attention other than vague references to the issues the candidates stood for. The news media makes it all sound like it's ideological. But, there are things that have been proven to work and proven to not work. The media educates the masses on very little of it.

Good for the White House! Let the White House v. White House debate begin! Let's get down to the real issues.

16. Krauthammer dodged...
Well, I just fast forwarded through the last 20 minutes of Special Report, where they have the "Fox All Stars" in a round table. One of which is always Krauthammer. And, he was there again tonight. Looks like ole Charlie chickened out. Didn't say a word about the White House response to him.

Damn, I was hoping for a full-fledged debate between the White House and Krauthammer!

Krauthammer takes a dive in the first round...

5. I am very much in favor of engaging in direct discourse. I hope to see more than Krauthammer
addressed AND I'd love to see a little snark!!!

6. krauthammer isn't conservative
before anything can be done to resist the big lie party(s) (ie the GOP and the other buncha wimps) fundamental concepts like 'liberal' and conservative should not be hijacked in order to assist the continuing defrauding of humanity. I know it's impossible to apply logic to language, but , really, krauthammer is a reactionary rightwing phony who has made big money playacting the rightwing stooge for nearly 2 generations. To call him and his ilk 'conservative' is to suggest they are virtuous, men of integrity (remembering the 70's and earlier, the only 'conservativism' that the reactionary right have defended are the phony patriotism and small government ideals which they in reality have always attacked, using real patriotism and honest government in doing so!) They literally bankrupted the public purse, and for 40 years they did it one day at a time.
I'm almost 60 and recall that hideous thugee kraurthammer singing nixon's praises 35 years ago

7. Krauthammer is on the cover of National Review: "Obam's Critic-In-Chief."
http://americanglob.com/2009/11/08/krauthammer-on-the-cover-of-national-review/

Now that every major Republican voice has been exposed as crackpots, Krauthammer wins by default. Go get'em Obama!
