Tweety failed to clearly debate the president of Americans for Prosperity
Edited on Thu Mar-18-10 11:31 PM by LiberalFighter
Tweety had several opportunities to call out this Phillips guy.

Phillips used the governmental bureaucratic red tape. What about the red tape that insurance companies throw up against the insured?
Phillips singled out a Canadian as one of their supporters and had to take out a 2nd mortgage. I would call that out as a lie.

I wonder if this Tim Phillips owns stocks in health insurance companies.

1. Yeah, he gives cons a pass a lot
He feigned 'hard baller' but gave him a pass in effect. All the outrage and railing that "Ronald Reagan would never do a thing like that. He'd stop and ask the guy'what's going on?' "

meh

7. No ...
I don't trust him, either, but I wstched the whole interview, and he literally evicerated the guy ...

Seriously, he took the tact of making this guy say what their plan would be for people who did not have coverage, and of course the guy kept going to back to not passing this legislation, because they have no plan for the uninsured, and Mathews kept going back to it ... He NEVER let him off that hook ...

He killed the guy, seriously ...

But, yeah, he is just as likely to negatively paint BO today ...

Mathews blows with the wing, and he also treats people according to their status ... This guy is a nobody, so he took him to the woodshed ... He is VERY deferential to Rs with some power ...

2. He said a Canadian had to take out a 2nd mortage?
A Canadian living in Canada? If that's what he said, then it almost certainly is an out-and-out lie. This kind of stuff never happens in Canada. Never. Seriously... never.

3. I'll try to remember the whole story
They actually used the lady in a commercial.

She had a brain tumor and was diagnosed in Canada, she went through all of the testing in Canada and it was determined it was a liquid mass, non malignant so surgery wasn't immediately sent to surgery but was scheduled four to six months out. She did not want to wait and came to the US and had the surgery performed. Also, if I remember correctly, the Canadian Govt even reimbursed her for some of the expenses.

5. Shona Holmes - anti-health care shill
CNN's take on it:

FactCheck.org

Mayo Clinic using her for advertising:

Wikipedia article:

She's suing the Canadian health care system so will no longer talk publicly about the case.

6. I would just go with the title
"Tweety Failed" and leave it at that....

He is far more interested in hearing his own voice as opposed to doing anything like asking serious questions and actually respecting his guest long enough to allow them to answer.

I simply cannot watch his excuse for a "news" show.

8. I wanted him to ask in which world do insurance companies compete
for those with pre-existing conditions? This guy acted like buying ins. across state lines would solve everything. What a crock!
