2. Those are state attorneys general threatening to sue
Edited on Tue Mar-23-10 12:28 AM by csziggy
One is here in Florida. I didn't think Bill McCollum was that whacko. Florida is in a big budget crunch - why is he wasting taxpayers' money fighting this?

I'll have to find out what the local OFA is doing to fight his idiocy!

Edited - what is right? "attorneys general" or "attorney generals"?

6. They are all working together - it's part of their 3 point plan.
Delay - lawsuits - repeal. The first link goes into it in more detail.

3. It's also going to backfire fucking big time. They are fucking idiots.
They don't learn. The American population is not stupid (for the most part), it's insulting to have something like this shoved down our throats on a daily basis.

Clinton, never forget.

5. The local news had a hard time finding someone to support Colorado suing.
They went around asking people and only one person said "well I hope they pull if off but now is not the time to be suing."

Our budget can't afford it. No state can, as you said.

9. Since the Chamber of Commerce dropped it and won't support
the lawsuits, then who will pay for them. It is mostly red states who are almost bankrupt ranting and raging. If I were a person in one of those states I would raise the devil wasting our money. The lawyers and those that know said they can't win, because federal law supersedes state law. So what's the purpose. Do they think because the Supreme is republican they will flip and make state law ruler over federal law. I don't think they are that stupid.

fault in others because you dislike that same trait about yourself?

Displacement? Projectile displacement? :) I can't remember!

Whatever it's called - the pigs suffer from it!

10. They don't care how hypocritical they are.
It won't come back to haunt them. It's one of the advantages of leading nothing but idiots and crazy people. Consistency is for the other guys.

15. of course they know how hypocritical they are. they also know how much it bothers us.
it simply bothers us a lot more than it bothers them.
they know we have a sense of fairness that they lack.
they view our sense of fairness as a weakness to be exploited.
they get theirs and then try to convince us that us getting ours would be unfair.

I try not to devolve into hyperbole. But I think this is the very definition of it.

16. All of a sudden they love "activist judges"
Edited on Tue Mar-23-10 06:40 AM by quaker bill
I thought the idea was that these sorts of things were to be sorted out through elections and the political process. But now they would love them some law made from the bench of an "activist judge" to "thwart the will of the people".

What they did not imagine when they were saying that crap was that sooner or later they would lose an election or two. In particular, they did not know how soon it would happen.
