Threats against Obama back down to "normal" levels, says Secret Service

When it comes to death threats, well, Barack Obama is finally just a regular old president. Secret Service Director Mark Sullivan reports that the surge in threats against Obama, peaking on Inauguration Day, has plummeted. "It's now at a level where it was with other presidents, and that's a good thing," Sullivan tells Whispers. He credits the public for helping keep Obama safe during the election by calling in threats spouted by nutty neighbors. "It was an historic election, and there was a lot of sensitivity out there. I think one of the best partners we have is the public, and the public does bring this to our attention."

5. That's good news for future presidents who aren't the norm (white, male, straight, Christian).

It takes the electorate a while to come around. Every barrier broken is a good thing.

6. So telling people to go after the president and shoot him in the
head is normal. where in the hell did they get that idea. These secret service people has mostly been in office since the first George H.W. bush and in private you should have heard what they said they wanted someone to do to Bill Clinton. So how do you expect them to protect a democratic president and congress when they are blatant republicans. I think when an administration is changed the officers who protect the president and congress should be rotated to other jobs and new people with loyalty to the present administration, Werther republican OR democratic be chosen.
