Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher wins backing of Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson for Senate run
Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher and U.S Senate candidate has won the endorsement of Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson.

The two Democrats will hold a press conference today at 11 a.m.

Cincinnati and Columbus mayors already back Fisher. Though Jackson is not much of a campaigner, he holds great sway in Cleveland.

The endorsement should boost Fisher's spirits after the Shaker Heights Democratic Club recently voted not to endorse any candidate in the primary. A longtime Shaker Heights resident, Fisher would have liked the endorsement but the club was divided, making a hard push for the club's backing a messy affair.
