President Obama urges Democrats to "stay true to ourselves"

President Barack Obama on Thursday urged Democrats facing headwinds this year to "stay true to ourselves" as the Democratic Party chairman acknowledged the possibility of 2010 election losses.

Obama, at the second of two fundraisers that brought in $2.5 million for Democratic candidates, said Republicans had been no help in trying to solve America's problems and he took particular aim at rallies in recent days by the largely conservative Tea Party movement that voiced opposition to taxes.

He said his policies had led to sizable tax cuts for the middle class.

"I've been a little amused over the past couple of days when people have been having these rallies," he said. "You would think they'd be saying, 'Thank you.'"

(snip)
"If we stay true to our principles, if we stay true to ourselves, then elections will take care of themselves."

2. And exactly what is that?
Mandates?
Wars?
Bailouts?

How about renegotiating NAFTA?
DADT?
DOMA?

I'd suggest we START being true to ourselves.
