Any suggestions?
My city and our sister city in Italy are celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of our special relationship. I have been trying to get some kind of recognition from the White House that we could present to the Italian delegation that will visit us in July. A letter or proclamation from the president would be great. A short video address would be fantastic. I tried contacting the White House and the State Department directly but had no luck. I went through one of our senators who made an inquiry to the White House but still no response. Fifty years of international friendship in this world is what Joe Biden would call a “really big deal”. The new mayor of our sister city is coming and he is a huge fan of President Obama. I would sure like to kick off the next fifty years with something very memorable. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the White House involved?

1. A kind of out there suggestion
perhaps someone with the OFA group might have a way of wriggling through the bureaucracy.
Like I said - a stretch - but you have done what I would have done so far.

2. That's a great idea.
I hear from them often enough. I'm also looking at the possibility of getting the President's brother-in-law to join us. He coaches basketball at Oregon State up the road a few hundred miles. I'm spreading the rumor the we have a 7'-2" eighth grader in town with amazing shooting and ball handling skills.
