Along with Trippi, he appears to have hired Doug Schoen, Mark Penn's partner.

2. My thought too
I actually read Trippi's book - and thought less of him as I did. He had no recognition of how badly he ran the Dean campaign. He deserves credit for his use of internet fundraising, but that was really obvious as businesses already were using the internet to sell goods and services.

He ignores that he managed to spend most of the $40 million they raised in the last quarter of 2003 in Iowa and NH, spending far more than anyone else. Then the Edwards campaign was a mess.

4. I didn't read Trippi's book but I would if he wrote one about working for his second trainwreck...
... aka. the Edwards. After all, at one time, Edwards was considered the favorite to win Iowa, mainly because he'd camped out there since Nov. 3, 2004. Not to mention the wierd behind-the-scenes value of reading about abnormal psychology of both of the Edwards in action.

I believe the guy is a loose cannon who likes a big paycheck. This new development just confirms it. Neither candidate will win the governorship, of course. Crist has it wrapped up, IMO.

5. He added the Edwards campaign to his earlier book
(I read the book on the Kindle) He wrote it after the campaign ended, but before the scandal was verified. That made for interesting reading because it is clear now that his story was neither complete or honest.

Now, I am a partisan with regards to 2004 and 2008, so I see many things in the book as distortions. One fear I have is that in both years, Trippi got the candidates to throw inflammatory, hurtful charges that his opponents were controlled by corporations or lobbyists. Dean did this only in the last month as the campaign imploded. Edwards did it from the moment he emerged as left wing, populist Edwards. This is harmful, because it makes it very hard for people won over by Trippi won campaigns to shift to the other candidate. In addition, Kerry and Obama both had records of standing against corruption and ethical abuses that were at least as strong as the people running against them.

6. FWIW...my wife had a fundraising meeting with Meeks last month and wasn't that impressed...
...while it would be nice to have six solid months to beat up and Crist and Rubio, a primary challenge may require him to come up with a sharper message than he apparently has now.
