I Just Wanna Know what Russ Thinks.
I trust his judgment. He sits on the Judiciary Committee and will get to ask Kagan some questions. Id like to hear his opinions.

Feingold, Kohl praise Kagan as high court nominee
By ASSOCIATED PRESS Monday, May 10, 2010 - 10:44 a.m.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin's two Democratic senators are praising President Barack Obama's nomination of Elena Kagan to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Obama on Monday called the 50-year-old U.S. solicitor general open and fairminded. If confirmed by the Senate she'd become the third woman on the high court.

Sens. Herb Kohl and Russ Feingold both sit on the Senate Judiciary Committee, which is responsible for conducting nomination hearings for the Supreme Court.

Kohl says Kagan seems well-qualified. He says he hopes she provides the committee with "substantive and meaningful insight" into the kind of Supreme Court Justice she'd be.

Feingold says Kagan served ably as solicitor general. He says he takes very seriously his responsibility to evaluate her qualifications for the Supreme Court.

Cant give you a time to jump to, but CSPAN has a handy transcript on that page, click on the part where he starts talking and it will advance the video.

7. and just across the river from you MadBadger.....
Al Franken and Amy Klobuchar are weighing in on the pick also.....

MINNEAPOLIS - Minnesota's two U.S. senators will have an initial voice in deciding whether Solicitor General Elena Kagan will fill a seat on the Supreme Court.

Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken serve on the Senate Judiciary Committee, which will hold a confirmation hearing on Kagan, named by President Barack Obama Monday as his nominee.

Klobuchar and Franken, both Democrats, said in statements that Kagen will bring a diverse background of legal experience to the bench. Besides serving as the nation's chief lawyer, Kagan has been a White House aide and was the first woman to serve as dean of Harvard Law School.

Klobuchar says it's ``healthy'' for the court to include someone who has experiences different from those of a judge. Franken expects Kagan will be confirmed without difficulty.
