Freeperland...classy moderating.
Tonight on Freeperland (in a heated thread about Laura Bush supporting gay marriage):

Zulu: The homosexual Community wants parity in every way with normal people. A “domestic union” has been approved in many states - New Jersey is one of them. But even here they want their relationships to be recognized as a MARRIAGE - just like normal people.

Because to their way of thinking, their lifestyle IS normal. That is why they want your kids to read “Susie Has Two Mommies” in school. That is why they try to force themselves into St. Patric’s Day Parades. And that is why we need to stop pretending that what they do is normal or desirable. What people want to do in the privacy of their own homes is their business, but they have no right asking us to approve it.

LSUsoph to Zulu: You are wrong, and when bigots like you die off (and it can’t come soon enough) gay persons and straight persons can marry the person of their choice, M or F, and no one will care or blink an eye. Laura was right, it is a generational thing, just like your generation/your parents’ generation didn’t let white people and black people drink out of the same water fountains. Being gay is not immoral, it is perfectly normal, and being anti-gay goes AGAINST conservatism.

Outlaw Woman to LSUsoph; Admin Moderator: You don't deserve posting privileges at FR imho. You are a liberal spewing poison. Homosexuality is not normal and a true conservative should never ever accept it as normal. You sir/madam belong on another forum. I hope you get banned here because it is hard enough just getting through each day's cultural and political poison that is continually piped in on the news that we shouldn't have to see the same bullshit being advocated by a so called member of FR. You have the reasoning of the amoeba over at DU.

Admin Moderator to LSUsoph: Bye-bye, troll!

Yep, it was LSUsoph who was banned, not the hate merchants Zulu or Outlaw Woman. Surprised? No, no, of course not, it's Freeperland after all. Just thought this example of their 'morality' was, well, spectacular.

1. The only thing worse than the membership at Freeperville is the
stone-age technology of the web site.

16. Jesus, that's the truth. If you've ever tried to figure out who's answering whom,
you see that the burden of navigating through the site quickly outweighs any information, entertainment or outrage you were trying to obtain.

5. lol and THIS is what the President was talking about Sunday when he...
"bashed" the ipad.

Meanwhile, you're coming of age in a 24/7 media environment that bombards us with all kinds of content and exposes us to all kinds of arguments, some of which don't rank all that high on the truth meter. With iPods and iPads; Xboxes and PlayStations; information becomes a distraction, a diversion, a form of entertainment, rather than a tool of empowerment. All of this is not only putting new pressures on you; it is putting new pressures on our country and on our democracy.

6. so a freeper really can't agree with Laura Bush over there
and over here, I think someone with Barack Obama's position on gay marriage would have a hard time expressing that view here.

9. I can't believe all the DUers paying attention to Freeperland?
Why should we care? Not unlike the obsession with Mourning Ho-Jo, it's a mystery to me why these sad souls should garner such attention.

15. because it's interesting
not everything we pay attention has to be "worthy" of our attention.

some things are simply curiosities.

that's okay within reason.

and for that matter, if a handful of DUers (certainly not most) want to keep track of FR for items of interest, then that means you and I can know what's said without having to invest the time ourselves. if we don't care, we don't have to participate in that thread.

further, frequent DU posters like you or me are sometimes talked about on some conservative sites.

12. This is no surprise.
Many Freepers would chose to make homosexuality a crime if given the chance. Can you imagine their world where people are arrested on suspicion of being gay? Don't think it can't happen here.

13. It's the same with the Republican party as a whole. They are ejecting the incoming generation.
which means the party is dying off.

Give the Republicans enough rope and they'll shoot each other in the face.

There are forums that will get rid of members who are moral while keeping racists and other bigots under their bosom without any penalty.

And this is done under the excuse of "not wanting to create division" or that "we don't cater to special groups here". The bigger lie when punishing those who call out any form of hatred is that, "we're all the same here and we don't want to Balkanize our boards". Then, the blinders go up without seeing anything wrong when virulent forms of bigotry is being expressed.

It is quite ironic that while speaking out against hatred earns one the ban hammer, those who perpetuate such animus are free to spew their disgusting views under the guise of the "First Amendment". Such purveyors are hate are even given a heightened status within their particular on-line community. And mind you, this is especially the case when espousing untruths about the group they spew their hatred against.

But as always, this is because there are some who "don't see" what they are saying is wrong or ugly while a whole lot of others who pipe down and confirm such views with their silence.
