Pelosi vows to end ‘Don’t ask, don't tell’ by the end of the year
The Pentagon’s “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy will be nothing but a memory by year’s end, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) declared Wednesday.

Pelosi, in an interview with The Hill, stopped short of laying all of her strategic cards on the table. She wouldn’t say whether the House will take the lead on the issue or predict when the Clinton administration-era tenet would be repealed.

But she made it clear ending “Don’t ask, don’t tell” is at the top of her agenda.

14. Congress doesn't change until January.
So the end of the year might be right.

15. That's right. And maybe there will be some lame ducks in congress who will
have nothing to lose.

11. It would go a long way in redeaming her in my eyes
But I still hold her accountable for taking impeachment 'off the table'. I will never forget that, but I want her to get this one. It's fucking time to change this institutionalized and legalized discrimination. Fucken enough already

18. That's a tall order.
I'm incredibly hopeful, but dubious at best. The repeal won't be as simple, I don't think, as folk are making it out to be, and I think we all know that we'll be fighting an uphill battle against the Repub immovable object; we need to have unstoppable force to repeal DADT.

Here's a rec for exposure, however, as well as for hope for equality.
