Rochester Mayor to Be Cuomo’s Running Mate
Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo has picked Mayor Robert J. Duffy of Rochester to be his running mate, the Cuomo campaign announced Tuesday morning.

Mr. Cuomo has been considering Mr. Duffy at least since November, when The Times reported that he was considered by many Democrats to be a leading candidate for the lieutenant governor’s job.

Mr. Cuomo and his advisers see Mr. Duffy, a popular former police chief, as a person who could bring upstate representation to a government that has been dominated by Democrats from New York City and Long Island.

Mr. Cuomo and Mr. Duffy are scheduled to appear at a news conference in New York City on Wednesday morning.
