PPP: Obama Leads all Potential Republicans in 2012 Matchups
Edited on Thu Jun-10-10 03:31 PM by MadBadger
Looks like Romney and Huck are obviously the strongest contenders at the moment for the Republicans, though every single Republican has a net negative favorability ratio.

2012 President
46% Obama, 44% Huckabee
50% Obama, 41% Palin
47% Obama, 39% Gingrich
46% Obama, 36% Paul
45% Obama, 42% Romney

Obama Job Approval
48% Approve, 47% Disapprove (chart)

Favorable / Unfavorable
Mike Huckabee: 27 / 31 (chart)
Sarah Palin: 34 / 53 (chart)
Newt Gingrich: 28 / 46
Ron Paul: 22 / 36
Mitt Romney: 31 / 36 (chart)

4. Its hard to believe a poll like that
We're suppose to believe that Huckabee who really hasn't been out there much, is polling at 44%?? I just don't buy it

5. Isn't he still on TV?
He has/had a show on FAUX.

Not to say I believe those numbers. I don't think any of that bunch will get over 45% in a real election.

10. I don't think we have to worry about him much
I don't think he's running- at least that's what he had previously said. If he runs, he would have to deal with the embarrassment of talking about Obama being shot at.

People have forgotten what a raving loon he is. He comes off as a nice guy, until you actually process what he says.

24. Romney has always been the one I've been afraid of
in 2012. If he can get past the fundies who believe that Romney belongs to an absurd cult (and they themselves do not), then:

he also has to deal with anti-Oompa Loompa bigotry.

49. The problem, though, is that he CAN'T get past the fundies.
They hate him more than they hated McCain for a few of the same reasons we do, actually--they think he lacks principles and will say whatever he thinks will win him votes.

that someone might snap a picture of him with the president, he's scared to be in the same space. I think he's keeping a distance, deliberately.

But it is good news. It's always good news when the incumbent is leading. Even narrowly. Especially when he's supposed to be politically vulnerable right now. haha

like Clinton in '96 and Reagan in '84--look at their poll numbers in '94 and '82--they weren't too hot. The economy will be much better in 12.

a Palin general campaign would be the most hilariously inept adventure we've seen since Goldwater '64, and if Ron Paul gets the nomination I will move to Somalia.
