Bob Poe dropping out of the governor's race (AK)
From Sean Cockerham in Anchorage --

Democrat Bob Poe announced this morning he’s dropping out of the race for governor.

Poe said he couldn’t raise enough campaign money, and figured he needed about $100,000 more to increase his name recognition.

Poe was the first candidate to enter the governor's race in January of 2009, back when Sarah Palin was still the governor.

He said today that his year and a half of campaigning was the most gratifying experience of his life, speaking with Alaskans all over the state.

1. I've met Bob Poe several times.
A good man with decades of government experience, but, as he said, not much name recognition. I'm hopeful that now that he's had a chance to get out and meet people in the state, he'll run for something else in the future. Or perhaps he'll be part of the next administration if we can get a Dem elected.
