Credit where credit is do. The President seems to have dealt with the money
from BP part of this mess pretty well. BP seems to have actually accepted or was made to accept being fully on the hook.

The deal sounds fairly legit.

1. Yes, the money is set up for...
"legitimate claims". That is the tell right there.

I'm sure assurances were given that they wouldn't get their feet held to the fire or have anyone in a position of power fighting them over what they regard as "legitimate".

2. Ken Feinberg
Is heading this up. I see no evidence he won't be a fair player on this.

9. you're right. You should have been made arbiter
of claims. It's really the only fair way.

18. Not necessarily.
There are, unfortunately, scammers amongst us who will try to take advantage of a situation to get something for themselves they don't really have a right to.

That being said, I hope they don't make every person filing a claim jump through a myriad of nearly impossible hoops in order to get the compensation and the help they deserve.

3. You know Obama did an excellent job with BP/money because
Fox News switched off the subject immediatley after Obama and BP execs spoke and went to some blurb on teachers. Didn't want to talk about the oil deal, so you know it was a success for Obama.

7. Something important to remember is that BP also agreed that
the 30 billion was not the end...if it costs more they will add to the fund.

15. Actually it will be true or false regardless of any data presented
Black holes have been sitting out there for billions of years without a shred of data and there was data for miles talking about a flat Earth and it was bull.

The damage is likely to be well over 20 billion but it's a legitimate down payment and I guess the largest ever from a corporation.

12. We shall see
Never underestimate the ability of corporations in America to weasel out of their responsibility- or of the federal courts to assist them in doing so.

16. Agreed.
I've been pretty critical of the response to the spill (Well, the non-cleanup is what I've been criticizing) but this is certainly good news and he definitely deserves credit for it.
