Signs show Iowa economy is recovering (some good news on a snowy morning)

DES MOINES -- There are positive signs that Iowa’s economy is recovering from months of recession.

Iowa’s leading economic indicators index rose slightly in October, ending a slide of 18 consecutive months and providing positive movement in areas that helped the state work out of its previous economic downturn, officials said Wednesday.

“To me, it’s early stages of recovery,” said Mike Lipsman, manager of the state Department of Revenue’s tax research section.

“I think we’ve turned around in Iowa,” he added. “We’ve been moving this way. We’ve been getting less negative for the past three or four months, but this is the first time that it moved positive on a monthly basis.”

11. Here is a link
http://wcco.com/wireapnewsia/Iowa.AG.State.2.1329751.html

Basically, hollywood studios were even able to film in Iowa, buy themselves a car, drive back home (whereever it is) and get a credit for the car. Basically, it was a poorly written bill that resulted in millions being handed out for nothing in return.
