Poll: Brown Leads Whitman 45-39 In CA-GOV Race
Eric Lach | June 30, 2010, 10:34AM

A new Reuters/Ipsos poll shows Democrat Jerry Brown leading Republican Meg Whitman 45%-39% in California's gubernatorial race.

Whitman, the former CEO of eBay, has spent tens of millions of her own money on the campaign, while Brown, the state's Attorney General, is looking to regain the office he held from 1975-1983.

The TPM Poll Average for this race has Brown ahead of Whitman 45.3%-40.4%.

Check out TPMDC's full coverage of the race here.

Looks like all that money hasn't bought Whitman a lead yet.

11. Heard the first Whitman radio commercial this morning -- reprehensible and
full of outright derision, ridicule, exaggeration, made-up history, etc.. If someone who didn't know the facts listened to it, you'd think Brown shouldn't be allowed to show his face in California, much less run for governor.

13. But wait.... Rasmussen had her just one point behind.
That shows that Rasmussen is always favoring the GOP candidate by oversampling Repukes and known conservative Independents.

Take any Rasmussen poll, add 5 points for the Democrat, and that's more in line with reality, as this Reuters poll shows.

14. Has Brown even started to campaign yet???
I have not seen a single ad or a single report of any campaign rallies or even a single interview. The LA Times seems to cover every single movement that Whitman makes ... sometimes mentions Brown, but usually it's in an article about Whitman.

15. This does not surprise me a bit. Whitman will throw away a lot of money and lose.
In many ways, it's nice to watch this self-absorbed ex-CEO burn her money.

Brown will be Governor as I've consistently said.

HA! This might go down without Brown having to spend a dime.
