Anybody else hear Sessions final statements?
What an asshole. He just ripped Kagan to shreds.

I hope Keith and Rachel play it so everyone can see what a close minded man he is.

4. She's anti gun and she will follow the law of other countries, when she clearly didn't say that.
That when she denied military recruiters at the college of Law, even tho they were able to be on campus, that she was clearly going against the law.

I'll try to remember more - it reminded me of an angry parent belittling a child.

He is such an ugly person, and I'm not talking about his looks.

15. Yes a petulant, ugly child... Thank heavens he didn't get on the bench
His animosity stems to that, I'm sure.

5. Saying he wouldn't vote for a judge who he was concerned would fuck with
the constitution in order to further her own agenda. VERY loosely paraphrased, but he was essentially saying he didn't trust her and wouldn't support her.

8. And how many times did she explain why she admired that Judge in Israel. He kept taking her words
and twisting them around.

Keith was right :)

19. But he supported Roberts and Alitio BECAUSE
he trusted them to uphold any and all corporate decisions. He can't trust someone who would work for the people and not corporations.

2. Didnt hear it.
I've been listening off and on all day, but seeing that only Repubs were still to speak I shut it off. Had enough of their poison. But I would like to hear a summary.

3. Yes. I had a fleeting fantasy if running into him somewhere and asking if he
was so concerned about the Constitution, why did he stand by and let Bush and Cheney shred it?

I'd like to slap him. KO made a reference to him the other night, something about still being up on a tree finishing up the fudge cookies (or some Keebler elf thing). :7

I'm sure they'll play it. Just don't know if I'll be able to watch again.

6. I know it. It makes me ill to hear the repugs say she will be an activist judge after what is going
on in the Roberts court.

7. This new Google/Twitter thing is kinda cool..
I vowed never to tweet, personally, but when I Googled Jeff Sessions just now, I saw a stream of tweets about his diatribe re: Kagan... not one viewed Sessions or his comments as positive. Good stuff!

10. Rightly or wrongly, I tend to form opinions of people partly based on who dislikes them
And I have to admit, I've never been very impressed by Kagan.

But if a piece of crap like sessions dislikes her, I believe she just might be the right person for the job.

12. I wasn't impressed by Kagan until I watched the hearings. I think she is just what this SC needs.
She is knowledgeable, quick thinking, an amazing sense of humor - and I believe she will uphold the law.

14. I wasn't overly taken with her until I watched some of the hearings either.
She is plenty smart and her sense of humor at putting up with these blowhards has gone a long way with me too. She seems to be handling it all quite well while marveling at their idiocy.

They act way more immature then my little ones.

24. Ditto. I actually didn't pay much attention since from the outset they said
it was kind of a given she'd be approved so no reason to get excited either way. But I was so impressed with her at the hearings. She didn't get rattled, she communicated with the 'inquisitors' as though they were all equals (as opposed to being nervous and trying too hard like in a job interview), she didn't let them get away with misrepresenting her, and she was very thoughtful and deliberate in her responses. I like her! I got a much more positive vibe than I did from Sotomayor - as though she was "tougher" somehow, although that is most likely just my impression.
