Obama should order Vilsack to reinstate Sherrod, if he doesn't... fire Vilsack
Apparently he decided to fire someone without knowing all of the facts--just because some right wing blogger and Fox News reported it! The secretary should have investigated this case fully and spoken to Ms. Sherrod rather than acting impulsively. The president should order Vilsack to reinstate her and if he doesn't he should do it himself and fire Vilsack.

Now that the damage has been done the Secretary is conducting an "investigation" to look into reinstating her. Oh come on! The investigation should be on why he and his department took the rash steps it took to begin with--without looking into the matter.

1. I agree completely
But I wonder how willing Sherrod will be to work with this schmuck ever again. Vilsack has poisoned the well for sure.

2. You know, Vilsack is reportedly going to address this, but
how exactly do you see this happening: Obama not ordering her reinstated, but firing Vilsack?

3. I think in the end she will be offered her job back and hopefully with a public apology
I don't think Obama will fire Vilsack--but he should certainly reprimand him.

6. He should invite them both for a beer at the WH.
Kidding.

I think they need to get this behind them TODAY. Give the woman her job back, apologize, take a few swipes at the repuke media, and move on!

9. At the very least Obama should come out with a statement
that Fox News is not to be trusted.

11. "Apparently he decided to fire someone without knowing all of the facts"
No one knows that. I mean, we know she got fired without all the facts, but who knows how responsible he is alone in it. We don't know how many advisers were involved and other staffers. When racist allegations are going to hit Glenn Beck, Id assume Vilsack made a few calls. Im also going to assume Vilsack doesn't frequent Breitbart's site, and was informed by other people.

People love finding a single person to pin the tail on.
