I'm just curious to know if I should be concerned about Obama's numbers right now.

1. Clinton made sure HIS approval ratings were only for himself.
After 1994, he never wanted a Democratic comeback at the Congressional level.

Bush's were higher at the equivalent time(1990), but that was tied solely to the run-up to the Gulf War and he wasn't able to do anything even for himself with those ratings.

Reagan's were at rock-bottom in 1982(the equivalent period in his regime)but he took 49 states two years later(due largely, it must be said, to our party leadership's decision to impose the bleakest and least popular nominee we could possibly have chosen in 1984).

So presidential approval ratings at the midterm don't always mean much.

3. Gallup has a neat thing on their site
where you put Obama's (or any president's) numbers up against each other in a graph
they have everyone back to Truman
