Reframe the Bush Tax Cuts as the Obama Tax Cuts
Problem: Republicans are making a fuzz about ending the Bush Tax Cuts.

Solution: Obama doesn't want to END them. He wants to REPLACE them with a tax cut program for the middle class. (Just leave unmentioned, that the rich loose their tax cuts in the process.)
Frame it that way and opposition to Obama means opposition to tax cuts.

Can you imagine republican heads exploding, when they have to condemn tax cuts? (It was Obama's idea, so all of a sudden tax cuts are evil. And they can't frame it as a bipartisan victory, because victory means satisfaction. And if they declare victory, they can't rally public momentum for a further round of tax cuts for the rich.)

1. A very smart guy called into the Randi Rhodes show the other day and made this very point.
Very smart.

Reframe as the Obama Tax Cuts, then dare the Republicans to go against tax cuts targeted at the Middle Class?

3. Why not submit a new bill lowering tax rates 1% to 3% for all
incomes under $200,00 and leave the top rate unchanged after Jan.

4. They should always be refered to as, 'budget busting tax cuts for the rich'
...or, 'economy collapsing tax cuts for the rich.'

5. No, they will say it's an "Obama tax INCREASE"
I am just relieved that Obama is fine with letting them expire -- Finally a Progressive Move..yay!!

I was pretyt much 50/50 on whether Obama would come out in support of letting this disaster expire. His decisions are virtually guided by the appeasement of the right and so this is definitely a strong left decision that actually involves big money....quite possibly the only progressive decision he as made that involved big money...every other has been very right. So i am a bit surprised and happy about that.

I think for repubs their best bet is to frame it as an Obama tax INCREASE since when it expires taxes go up to pre-tax cut levels which they can say is a tax increase by Obama..bastards
