Austin Texas is an island of blue in a sea of red.

I'm sure some disgruntled DUer will be along soon to trash him.

.... until then, we'll gladly accept everyone else's votes.

22. A lot of those hands reaching out to Obama are white hands though.
That is what really gripes the GOP.

6. Does anyone recall any
picture like this of numbnuts wading into a sea of college kids? I just browsed 29 pages of w photos he will shake hands w/ military, in Haiti, wiping his hand on Bill's shirt, but none w/ a crowd of students pleased to see him and eager to shake his hand. He must have gone to Liberty 'university' at least once, yes?

19. Faux took pains to point out that the Dem candidate for gov wasn't with Obama.

White cited an already full campaign schedule. His campaign will benefit from Obama's fundraising whether he is present or not. http://www.statesman.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/austin/firstreading/entries/2010/07/20/_happy_birthday_to_the_3.html

Since it's Austin, and the capital of Texas, I think Perry's Governor's mansion is only a few miles away.

13. But Andrea Mitchell kept repeating
that Obama is unpopular. That said, every time she said it she sounded a bit less like she believed what she was saying.

20. LOL. It would please her so much if he were downsliding,
but it does look from all accounts as if the man remains popular.

Poor Andrea.

24. Depending on how the stupid party plays it, 2012 could be the year that the Hispanic vote puts Texas
in the Dem column. And right now it looks as if the GOP is going all out to wave the bloody immigration shirt in order to get a short term gain in 2010. And it may not even work and they will have lost the Hispanic vote for a generation.
