"Business owner" explains why he isn't hiring on MSNBC
Anyone seeing this? Writer of an op-ed titled "why I'm not hiring."

He says every new employee exposes him to the government - and complaining he has to pay into social security, health care, etc.

I've kinda been waiting on an employer to admit they're not hiring to spite the US government.

1. That guy's company isn't hiring because it's been losing money
ever since he took over.

Funny how that works.

3. It's all bullshit
If those are his actual reasons, then he's a poor businessman.

You hire people if they can help you gain more profit.

5. He had to pay for all those things and deal with the same
government before Obama, so what is his point? I think people like him, are purposely doing this just to make Obama look bad...his reasoning is bogus...

7. He should just set up a partnership and convert the workers to owners.
Avoids most all "government exposure" including SS, heath care, minimum wages, etc. at the company level. Just have buy/sell agreements and bi-weekly draws and give out K-1s to the co-owners at the end of the year.

8. He's not hiring because he's afraid of the scary black man in that big White House.
That's the underlying message.

9. Corporations are sitting on record amounts of cash; the highest levels since 1963

Some of their hesitancy is well-founded caution, but I'm around these types a lot and many of them hate Obama. Their enthusiasm for sticking it to the government by holding back their endorsement for this economy by investing in new jobs is contagious, IMO.

10. If corporations

paid their CEOs and higher management more reasonably they'd be able to afford compensating workers properly. They're irrationally greedy and choose not to. They have the cash. All these excuses are smoke and mirrors. The bottom line is they don't want to have to deal with workers fairly and are angry about it. To them we are objects without feelings here to only be exploited and abused.
