2. Mubarak is lagging behind
It's as though he feels not so tightly wrapped up in this as the others.
In fact, I'm surprised he's there. Anyone understand why Mubarak is there?

6. Mubarak has not been in good health lately
He is there to lend influence, given that he has long been our favorite dictator in the region, is somewhat moderate and Egypt long ago established diplomatic relationship with Israel in the Carter Peace Accords. Egypt also has a major stake in what comes from the territorial discussions vis-a-vis the Palestinians.

The chances for any significant breakthrough to resolve the Israeli/Palestinin conflict are about the same as Israel agreeing to abandon its West Bank settlements (pretty close to absolute zero).
