He said this last night on his show I'm trying to find the link.

1. If he, and other progressives in the media, would get behind it then it might get to 500K.
It's no wonder we are going to do so poorly in November.

4. Ed (and his network) hasn't been promoting this for nearly a year and
it hasn't been massively discussed in the "liberal media" ...

so, of course, the "liberal media" will downplay whatever crowd shows up ... if 1 million show up, they'll say it's "400K" ... if 10K show up, they'll say "a few thousand" ...

2. He should coordinate with the 10-2-10 March on Washington.

3. Good to see that Cenk is happier to engage in intra-ideology pissing contests
Instead of, you know, doing something to support his alleged positions.

6. That statement was taken completely out of
context. I listened to the segment in question on TYT last night. While Cenk did say that he was worried that they wouldn't get as many people as the Beck rally did, he said the march for a good cause that he wholeheartedly supported and gave out information regarding the time and date of the event and the organizers' website.

You're attacking him for no reason.

7. I Agree With Cenk
Ed is no Beck - Liberals are not angry enough now that Bush is gone.

No celebrities or awesome bands? Forget about it.

8. Its going to be Tough -- I have never heard about this until i read it just now -- OUCH!
If this were a republican thing then usually the liberal sources will talk about it endlessly as well as the rest of the media which would help get the message out. In this case, although liberal progressives are angry they are much more logical than emotional and so wont turn out in large numbers in this case. When bush was kicked out a lot went home and smoked a pipe.

To be able to get anywhere near this you will need to have ALL the liberal outlets talking about it..not just ed's show once in a while

9. He doesn't HAVE to get 300,000. He can get 78,000 and SAY it was 300,000...
and then the estimate can grow to over 1 million! And if Faux, Beck, and others deny it, they'll be denying their OWN claims about THEIR rally on 8/28 (if the crowd sizes look the same).

11. Exactly who does Cenk think he is anyway
Ed Schultz has a much bigger audience than Cenk and the Young Turks, just an internet show I just heard about a couple of weeks ago.

14. Hahahaha
Cenk is the most important and outspoken progressive we have in this country and his little internet show gets viewership that rivals CNN and MSNBC's weaker shows. If I was you I wouldn't attack the person who could end up having the highest rated show on MSNBC if they give him a slot.

13. I share Cenks worry
I love Ed and I am glad that they are having the rally, but the first thing I thought when I heard about this was that they definitely cant get 300,000 and to be honest I dont think they can even match Beck's rally in attendance, and I worry that this will have a negative effect on morale because you know the media will instantly compare it to Becks rally and if it isnt as big the mediawill interpret that to mean that dems and progressives are unenthusiastic and not as motivated as republicans.

I think its a good idea, I just know it will end up being panned by the media and will further serve to bolster their democratic massacre narrative.
