CA Governor: Bill Clinton endorse Jerry Brown
Only a day after having to apologize to Bill Clinton, California Democratic gubernatorial nominee Jerry Brown has received the former president’s endorsement.

“I strongly support Jerry Brown for governor because I believe he was a fine mayor of Oakland, he's been a very good attorney general, and he would be an excellent governor at a time when California needs his creativity and fiscal prudence,” Clinton said Tuesday in a statement to the Los Angeles Times.

3. I hope BClinton makes a point of correcting the ad Whitman is running starring him.
The info BClinton gave in 1992 regarding Brown's tax record in the clip is flat-out wrong and damaging to Brown.

7. How can Clinton correct the 18 year old debate footage -
in which he stated at that time the source of his info. Can't remember which news outlet originally made the claims that Clinton was repeating during that debate but whoever it was later corrected their mistake. I think Clinton acknowledged the mistaken data like 18 years ago.

As for Brown's campaign - they screwed up in not using Clinton earlier in a rebuttal ad and not asking Clinton to campaign for Brown. Dumb, dumb, dumb, campaign mistakes and Brown's stupid rally remarks were evidence that he continues to have a problem with his message and discipline.

10. 1) Cut a campaign ad for Brown with the correction to run here in Calif.
2) Considering BClinton's own problems with message and discipline that he demonstrated during the 2008 Democratic primary, you/he are in no position to cast aspersions on the subject.

12. Before Clinton can cut an ad he has to be asked by Brown.
Or did you want Clinton to create the ad and do the media buy?

Brown is the problem here. He has known or should have known for a year or two that Whitman would use the 1992 debate footage. An add rebutting it should have been in the can months and months ago. Instead of preparing for it Brown just goes to a rally and instead of speaking directly to the erroneous Whitman ad and the 1992 mistaken news report, he attacks Bill Clinton.

It was a truly stupid act and I am sure his handlers were off in the wings groaning about that total screw up. They also would have immediately realized that now Jerry will have no choice but to apologize to Clinton, ask for his endorsement and perhaps ask him to come campaign for him.

pathetic campaign...

14. BClinton's sordid tryst with MLewinsky is political lore that is now a stock joke, not an attack.
Dem politicians put their necks out for BClinton when he wagged his finger insisting he did not have sexual relations with that woman, Monica Lewinsky. He lied.

But I digress.

Still Brown apologized which for the record makes him the bigger man.

The SS Clinton went down in 2008 due to epic mismanagement. Brown won't be looking for campaign advice from that quarter.

BC's 15 year old penis story is only interesting to a few boys at DU.

"Still Brown apologized which for the record makes him the bigger man." Guess you missed the endorsement today.

20. You are wasting your time.
Same haters, different day. Brown is an ass for saying what he said, but around here they would rather die than admit it. Bill is a bigger man for letting it go by endorsing him, not that it will probably do much in the end. Unfortunately for California, it appears that they will have Whitman for governor.

9. Brown is gonna lose this one
A tragedy for CA

Has anyone seen the one ad he is running, very infrequently. It's a short little positive ad says he balanced the budget and that he will not raise taxes WTF ! He's bringing a knife to figh against someone with an AK47

He need so be saying
1. Everything MW says is a lie
2. MW has no understanding of how to fix CA--her solution will be to privatize everything and do to CA what Bush
Cheney did to the nation
3. If you are middle class, your days are numbered under MW
4. Crime will soar because CA will become like a third world country
5. Repeat # 1

You get the drift ; who the hell is running his campaign?
