http://www.gallup.com/poll/143132/Generic-Ballot-Virtually-Tied-Democrats-Republicans.aspx

This is a stunning 9-10 point total swing in 1 week.

Article quote:
PRINCETON, NJ -- Gallup's generic ballot for Congress for the week of Sept. 13-19 shows a 46% Democratic and 45% Republican split in registered voters' preferences for the midterm congressional elections. It is the second week out of the last three in which the two parties have been virtually tied.

People waking up to the insanity on the right perhaps?

Last week's poll was 48-43% R so a huge swing!

3. Is the media going to blast this poll result out there?
I think not. There will be but a peep from the corporate whores.

2. Hopefully this is going to signal good things for Dems in Nov. I believe we are going to hold the
Senate but the house is another matter.

9. I thought both the house and senate were gone in August
Now, I am starting to think that we could hold the house and the senate is a slam-dunk hold with perhaps as many as 54-55 seats.

People need to understand just how difficult it will be for the GOP to take the 45 seats they need to win the house. Plus, the climate is changing esepcially with the stock surge on the news that the recession is over today.

11. Nate Silver and the polls back it up have us keeping the Senate but the House is another matter. He
has us at 211 there. I am trying to look at polls and other information to see if there an be a shift or if he is wrong about it.

5. Yep and 2-weeks ago it was the GOP by 10 and tons of news reports
on how the GOP had a historic lead. I wonder if there will be any reports on how they lost their historic lead? I doubt it.

7. There are two ways of looking at this
One is that Republicans pissed away a 10 pt lead, the other is that this is an MOE lead and that things remain in a dead heat.

But then again I think that pollsters are the scum of the Earth.

10. I'm hoping this means the GOP shot themselves in the foot with too much teabagger crazy.
With characters like Christine O'Donnell and Sharon Angle, it was only a matter of time before regular voters started to figure out that the GOP was being taken over by raving lunatics. Now I think it's starting to show in the polls. They're unhappy with Democrats, but at least the Dems are trying to govern, even though they're only partially effective. The GOP's just frothing at the mouth without any sort of coherent plan of their own at all to put the country back together.

Now that summer is over, the rest of the U.S. is getting it first real look at the teabagging freakshow candidates, and they don't like what they see.

14. Everyone remember when, after Palin was nominated, lots of people were scared?
Remember when the media fawned on her "fresh face" and Democrats wrung their hands? Remember when McCain was ahead and everyone was talking of Jeremiah Wright? That was early September. We have time to turn this around, and maintain Democratic majorities in both houses of congress! Every district a battlefield! All out to vote!

19. This is not that surprising to me as it seems the Rethugs peaked too early
and Christine O'Donnell winning the Repub Delaware primary just adds to the public's wariness about the Rethugs.
