1. According to the articles I am reading Meg and Jerry
Edited on Sun Oct-03-10 05:47 PM by Kdillard
were pounding each other. Meg once again was trying to blame Brown for her maid issues and Jerry responded that she has tried to point fingers at everyone but herself and that if she can't admit a mistake she shouldn't be running for Governor. The debate wasn't friendly and it dominated. Jerry seems to have held his own and he did get an endorsement from the LA times so good for him. I am waiting to see some more polls from CA to see whether Jerry has managed to consolidate his lead or whether Meg's woe is me is working.

4. she reminds me of Michael Huffington
(of Arianna fame) when he tried to buy the governor's office several years ago. He lost soundly and spent lots of money.

He's one in the same with Whitman, both of them trying to buy themselves titles.

I couldn't remember the democratic opponent for gov...now I remember, he was running against Dianne. She got my vote in a bit of nose hold.

9. I saw it, and think it was much like the first debate except
Jerry was in his element, and very comfortable. Meg, not so much. I thought Jerry's response to Meg's attack was well metered and hit home, but the squeezed orange comment will be the lasting quote the Latino community will remember and relate to:

"You don’t just bring in semi-serfs and say do our dirty work, and then we’re finished with you like an orange and just throw it away. That’s after you’ve squeezed it. That’s not right,"

11. Translation equipment broke down ...
They took a break, then came back.

The meeting was plagued by technical difficulties. Immediately after the tense exchange about the housekeeper, the translation system stopped working, and both candidates were taken off stage for half an hour and placed in separate holding areas.
