I will not jump into conclusions regarding this new health care bill compromise with a trigger and no public option. It may work. Who knows? The CBO will socre it soon. I will hold my opinion until then.
That said, I better get that $2,500 reduction in premiums that was promised during the campaign for a typical family (members of the 80% of Americans who have employer-based insurance). I'm not simply walking up to these politicians and demanding those savings. I was
them.

CANDIDATE OBAMA: "I will sign a universal health care bill into law by the end of my first term as president that will cover every American and cut the cost of a typical family's premium by up to $2,500 a year."
You know what, give me $2000 and I'll probably still be somewhat happy because the promise would have been mostly kept. But no less than that. Don't sell me snake oil.
The previous House plan would have saved us $100-200, which is laughable and would have made President Obama break his promise. At least now there's hope. We may or may not get that $2,500 price decrease. I will post a follow-up once the CBO comes up with numbers.
